Rainforest Seafood Festival Returns After 1 Year Hiatus

Kingston, Jamaica – February 15, 2017: After a one year hiatus, Rainforest Seafoods Festival will return with a bang to the second city on Ash Wednesday, March 1, at the Catherine Hall Entertainment Centre.

This announcement was made at the launch of the seafood company’s signature event at Barbican Beach in Kingston on Wednesday, February 15.

Funds raised at the event, which is in its fourth staging will be committed to the “We Care for Cornwall Regional Hospital” initiative to aid the life-saving operations of the St James hospital.

Twenty-five Million Dollars have been raised by the Rainforest Seafood Festival which has cemented itself as Western Jamaica’s largest charity event since the event’s inception, with the organizers seeking to surpass the funds raised at previous stagings.

The event’s organizers are one step closer to outdoing the donation made in previous years with generous contributions from major sponsors Wisynco, National Bakery, Jamaica Observer, Lasco Food Drink and Lasco Money Services.

Chief Executive Officer of Rainforest Seafoods, Brian Jardim disclosed that his team was excited about the upcoming event.

“We are delighted to bring back MoBay’s largest charity event and food festival. We recognize the tremendous impact the event has on the community and how important the funds raised at the event strengthen the facilities at the Cornwall Regional Hospital,” he added.

Seafood lovers will be able to satisfy their cravings from a wide range of vendors with over 20 vendors from across the island being featured at the mega event including seafood extraordinaires, Little Ochi Seafood, Gloria’s, and Sharkies.

Lion fish enthusiasts will also be able to enjoy sumptuous lion fish from Montego Bay Marine Park, shrimp lovers will not be left out as the Middle Quarters Village will be present along with jerk authorities Scotchies as well as Rainforest’s own Fish Pot Food Truck.

With such a lineup of vendors, patrons are guaranteed a day made in heaven for their palates at the highly-anticipated event.

The family focused event will have entertainment for persons of all ages Children in attendance will be treated to a performance by Sesame Street characters and will have access to a Petting Zoo. There will also be a fireworks display and a raffle for a Weekend at Beaches in addition to giveaways throughout the day’s activities.

The evening concert features an impressive line-up of performing artistes which include Tifa, Bounty Killer, Ding Dong, Romain Virgo, Kevin Downswell, Cocoa Tea and Grandpa.

The event promises 12 hours of entertainment, starting at 11am and concluding at 11pm.  Pre-sold ticket prices are adults $1250 presold and $1500 at the gate, and children $500 presold and at the gate. VIP tickets are $2500 for adults pre-sold and at the gate and $1000 for child VIP.
