Rainforest Seafoods Celebrates Academic Excellence At Annual Scholarship Awards

MONTEGO BAY – Rainforest Seafoods, the Caribbean’s largest supplier of fish and seafood, hosted its Annual Scholarship Awards on Thursday, August 18th for children of employees who have achieved academic excellence in the past school year. The seafood company awarded $1.5 million in scholarships and book grants.

The seventeen scholarship awardees, who range from GSAT students to those pursuing tertiary educations, and their parents were treated to a luncheon at Rainforest’s Montego Bay head office.

Scholarship awardees had to achieve an average of 75% or a 3.0 Grade Point Average in order to be eligible for the program.  In addition, to these scholarships, the company also distributed 60 book grants to children of team members to assist with back school expenses.The event was hosted by CEO Brian Jardim who reaffirmed the company’s continued commitment to investing in educational initiatives. He explained, “This scholarship fund, which has been existence for over a decade, is one of the most important programs at Rainforest Seafoods and the one that I am personally most proud of.”
